I don't think it's direct cos its a such a long way. You'd go via V/line to Sydney takes about 12 hours. Then take a break, see the bridge and all before you take the next 12 hour trip.

Yea u can, but my advice take a flight - same price and u will b there in 2 hrs. Virginblue fly there heaps of times during the day!! Train will take a long 24 hrs, unless u want to see sydney? Then go for it

yes you can but forget it I went from brisbane to melb by train and it took 17 hours bris to syd 9 hour stoppover in syd

melb to bris by plane 2 hours and about the same price

Yes, but I think you have to change trains in Sydney, and air travel would be faster and cheaper.
