Personally I like the Aussies, I've been there a few times for a holiday, about six months total. Well most of the ones I have met anyway, nobody likes everyone they meet. I remember my first day in Australia, I was outside eating and derelicts kept coming up and asking for two dollars. When the fourth guy asked I had to ask him if I was on some type of peek-a-boo camera show, it was really bizarre. I asked about 40 Aussies what these dudders were buying that cost two dollars and no one was able to answer my question. Oh well, maybe I'll find out next time. In case anyone is wondering, I didn't give any of them money, I don't work 90 hours a week to support someone who doesn't want to bother working.

Well I personally think highly of the Aussies. Except for the ones down in Adelaide. Went out on a date with one, but the bloody sheila turned out to be a gay.

Americans seem to have a love affair with all things generically "Australian" (e.g. the accent, blond-headed surfer boys, Steve Irwin), but to actually know next-to-nothing about the country (e.g. geography, history of its settlement, relations with its indigenous population) and especially its politics.

They seem to be friendly, laid-back/easygoing, and fairly athletic.
