Will be spending a couple of nights in the city and was wondering if anybody had caught any acts that they would recommend others seeing ..

I am not really into smutty humour ( any grade sixer can tell a smutty joke) much prefer witt and dare I say it sarcasm (yes yes the lowest form of witt .. I know .. still more clever than smut)

Elbowskin!!

They're a great young duo from Melbourne... doing their 7th festival i think, and have always been favorites among the other comedians.

I saw their show last week and it was brilliant. They combine music, sketch, standup & film... never a dull moment. Don't miss them!!

Other great ones are Daniel Kitson for intellectual musings, Sammy J for musical theatre, or Eddie Perfect's "Shane Warne The Musical".

If you like bigger names, try Arj Barker or Ross Noble.

Avoid guys like Rove & Hughesie like the plague... the festival has so much more to offer.

Go and see Frank Woodley, he is fantastic! He used to be in the group Lano and Woodley (legends) but they split up last year after many years of working together and now Frank is doing his own solo show this year.
