I do not know a wide range of Indians nor have I been to India, but my husband is Indian. From my personal experience, I have found his family and friends to be very accepting of me and very kind and caring. My husband's father is Indian and mother was from Poland. His family is Catholic, and he attended a Jesuit school until he graduated and came to the US to attend the university. Technically he's lived in the US longer than he lived in India, but his dad still lives there. My husband's upbringing and value system is similar to mine, and sometimes it almost seems that we grew up nearer to each other. My husband's native language is English, which would have surprised me if I had not known his background. I have noticed that Indians know more about world politics than people in the US do. His dad knows more about US politics than most Americans.
We do subscribe to India Today so I'm learning some about the politics and what is newsworthy there. I am very concerned about the people who live in poverty. The conditions there seem worse than the US. I think India is a fascinating place with a rich cultural history. I am continuing to study it more and look forward to someday visiting.
I have not found anything to dislike about Indians. There are good and bad people wherever you are from, and I prefer to dwell on the good ones.

People are the same all over. I have some great friends in that are from India, and I have also been offered a great deal of money to marry (and I'm not oil painting!) an Indian mans brother so he could come and live here (yuck!)
I haven't been there, but imagine it to be a diverse land full of poverty, beauty and too many people.
I love their food!

hmm...ask Russell Peters, the Canadian standup comedian...he will tear apart everything bad about indians... Have u heard abt the cockroach story? How indian's pull each others legs and hinder development... on the brighter side... Indians value tradition and show love and care for their neighbours.
BTW iam an India..

India is quite a complicated society, very different from America. REading some books on India helps you realize how fortunate we are to not have caste systems.

The beaches would be a cool place to visit, but the cities and farmland are boring. it's also too overcrowded and in a tsunami area
