I always just head to the nearest 7-11 and talk to the sales clerks there and take their recommendations. I've always gotten a good deal and have never had any problems. You can buy the SIM card there as well. Have a great trip!

optus, vodafone or telstra are really good and you can get them from phone shop or post office.

You can get prepaid all over!

Supermarkets, Phone stores, post offices, newsagencies, 711 type stores.

Have a look at what you get and prices. From what I remember Vodafone is quite cheap, as is Optus. Telstra is the biggest network with the best coverage and is probably very competitive.

Have a look at this fantastic sit because it compares them all for you (unbiased).

Prepaid sim is everywhere nowadays. But for the best coverage and price, its better you ask around the locals.

good luck.
