I have tried Expedia.co.uk for travel prices for Melbourne, but I am just wanting to get a broader picture of the price of doing this. Any other sites people know of?

Try www.webjet.com.au - it has comparison fares for all the airlines and you can get some really cheap prices!

I think it's www.onthebeach.com. Can choose your flight and hotel seperately and you get discount as it's all online. Tickets arrived in plenty of time.
