Planning a trip to Victoria for mid-July, I know it's out of season, but Nothing seems to be on. An ideas on what to see?

Get yourself to the MCG to watch some AFL football. My birthday is in July in Melbourne too.....but I dont think the state government will make it a public event...not this year anyway. The Melbourne Aquarium might be worth a look....If you like shopping, Chadstone Shopping Centre will take a week to visit (its hard to find your way back out again).

You can try Halftix at the Melbourne Town Hall tourist office once you get here. There are no major outdoor festivals or events due to the weather but the usual suspects should be on: Melbourne Theatre Company, Opera, Ballet, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Try TicketMaster and Ticketek for concerts.
